Reflections from Xcalibur’s President, Jim Brown

Over the past few weeks, I have been reflecting on the year since we last were together May 2019 in Chicago at our first Xcalibur conference.  When I think back to that time, I often find myself smiling with an occasional chuckle as my mind cycles through different memories of our time together.  We came together with a common goal to learn and two things we clear to me, we learned a lot and we enjoyed our time together!

COVID-19 has required all of us to adjust significant aspects of our everyday life.  The fact that we could not meet in Nashville this year pales in comparison to all the challenges that you have had to face at home, at work, with colleagues, with students, and with family.  Nonetheless, I am still sad that we could not come together this year.  We will meet again next year, in Nashville May 2021, same as we had planned for this year.  In the meantime, the Xcalibur team is continuing our efforts to come to you where you are through webinars, virtual meetings, virtual retreats, and virtual trainings; we will get to you!

I miss you all!  We miss you all!  Please stay safe, stay healthy, and if you are on one of our virtual meetings share video so we can see your smiling face – I love seeing you all!

Sincerely,

Jim Brown

President, Xcalibur
